Gerard Habonimana CSW
Gerard Habonimana CSW, is a dedicated therapist with experience in outpatient clinical settings. Gerard has worked with clients who face various challenges including depression, anxiety, life transitions, maladaptive relationship issues, and other life challenges. Gerard provides a safe environment for therapeutic healing, valuing the importance of a compassionate, loving and therapeutic relationship with his clients.
Gerard is passionate about helping adolescents and seeing them gain a self-identity. His approach to therapy is client-center therapy as a foundation for his work. Gerard is a firm believer in utilizing DBT skills for success in life’s challenges. Gerard also draws from cognitive behavioral therapy and strength-based solution for his approaches and believes the client’s strength is an important aspect of healing. Gerard also uses holistic methods for mental health. He addresses the whole person and recognizes how important it is to identify all aspects of an individual life that impact their well-being, such as but not limited to culture, environment, family dynamic, etc.
Gerard graduated from Utah Valley University with both his bachelor’s and master’s degree in social work.
When not at work, Gerard enjoys learning new things and spending time with his family by hiking, mountain biking, jogging, playing soccer, and spending time outdoors.
