Melissa Snyder, LCSW

Melissa Snyder, is a licensed clinical social worker who is EMDR certified. She is a dedicated therapist with experience in outpatient and residential clinical settings. Melissa has worked with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, emotional regulation, trauma, life transitions, attachment and maladaptive relationship issues among other life challenges. She places high value on providing a safe place to heal along with having a compassionate and validating relationship with her clients.
Melissa is certified in EMDR to help her clients work through their trauma and anxiety. Melissa is also certified in Sand Tray therapy as well as DBT. She also draws from cognitive behavioral therapy, strength-based solution focused, and emotionally focused therapy. Melissa encourages her clients to allow for authenticity, say what needs to be said and feel what needs felt. She believes “healing takes place when you allow yourself to step into vulnerability. Sometimes simply talking about your thoughts and feelings with a safe person can make a happier person.”
Melissa graduated from Weber State University with a bachelor’s degree in social work and soon after earned her master’s degree in clinical mental health Social Work and human services from Our Lady of The Lake University in San Antonio, Texas.
When not at work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her family and friends, taking road trips, hiking with her dogs, working out and more recently taking Kickboxing classes.
